POLL: ViM also over-powered 8v8 wise?
NO
If your monks have any competence at all, with a 3 man monk backline you should be able to survive ViM much easier than in 6v6. Also, wards help VS the iway warriors. Because of your 3 man monk backline, you'll have room for a monk that can save you from ViM. (RC)

Ummm...so this isn't a poll? I agree, ViM in 8v8 is much easier to beat than during the 6v6 event. And it really wasn't that hard to beat then.

From my experience in battleing ViM teams, they are hardly a problem, and I can say with confidence I am a complete newbie at HoH pvp.

Hi, I don't understaind, you say "also" in your topic title, which eludes to the fact you think it's overpowered in 6 vs 6, and ViM is not overpowered, or even good, anywhere. Not in 6 vs 6, not in 4 vs 4, and certainly not in 8 vs 8.

It only has a chance to gain a foothold on your team if your teamwork is terrible. If your team listen and follow instructions, and have even the faintest grasp on tactics, the force of ViM suddenly becomes very much as of a broken dagger handle.

Never had a problem over the weekend with ViM. Only real problem was facing the standard Melandrus/Cripshot/Thumper builds. Two Debilitating Shots vs a two monk backline = owned.
ViM was garbage in 8 vs 8, and continued to be garbage in 6 vs 6.

ViM in 6vs6 left little room for mistakes. Luck was also of influance against ViM (ghost interupting important monk skills for instance). In 8vs8, well, about everyone likes to face them for obvious reasons

You only get owned by ViM if you rush to traps randomly and kite into their traps like stupid. If you play it smart and have good condition removal, no problem with ViM, whether it is 6v6 or 8v8. (for instance, if they turtle and mass traps, seed the warrior before he rushes in..)

thanks to the 6v6 weekend, vimway is the new iway. Scrubs will run it, and get steamrolled by competent teams (but there are always those teams with healing breeze monks and touch rangers on underworld that they'll have no problem with)
more importantly, it seems vim is the iway on these forums, inso much as there are 2 different threads that exist on the subject that shouldn't exist on the firstplace, but people like to whine.

I don't recall whining, just starting a poll. Good try though. (scroll up)

i wasn't trying to suggest you were, and apologize if you took it that way. god knows i saw enough whining about it in game though.
what it comes down to is: i'm sick of people talking about vimway.

lol, its fine. Just wanted to know if thought people that vim was overpowered in 8v8, which its not. It was overpowered in my opinion in 6v6 because of a mere 2 monk backline.

Go to GvG. ZOMG people run 2 monk backlines, and vim doesn't seem to be dominating.
ViMway is seriously underpowered. 8v8 or 6v6. It needs a buff.

hmm 6v6 weekend mostly ran a hex build with iq/mh guys and vim way was greeted with spiteful defile/desecrate and other degen chars. It was hilarious when a entire altar was lighting up with spiteful hits ;]

I would not say that the build needs a buff. It is the player's brains who play this build that needs a buff. What little healing exists in the build is entirely conditional in the form of victory is mine and healing spring. With healing spring being easily interruptable, having a tiny radius, and not helping players that are being spiked, there is no credible source of healing in the build. Players running builds with no credible source of healing need their heads examined.

Did people actually lose to ViM more than once or twice this weekend?
